suffocation _ x
Thin bodice of a mare slid like a ghost across the battlegrounds. Pelt of white and black catching the rays of the dim sunlight and shattering them, sending a billion beams shooting from her pelt in every direction; thus, causing a faint shimmer that gave a remarkably chilling touch to her pelt. Light blue eyes, looking almost milky white from a distance, surveyed the landscape surrounding her.
Her slender head was dipped low to the ground with the first appearance of a scarlet patch of grass. Nostrils flared as she took in the faint scent of another equine's blood. Her black pupils grew large for a moment, then returned to normal as she shook her head, her mane flipping from side to side as she cleared her nose of the smell.
And yet, part of her enjoyed to scent, the darker side of her that almost always consumed her. A smirk flickered over her face but soon vanished again as she continued on through the silent lands.
x _ no breathing

The stallion watched patiently, looking over her slowly. Her black and white pelt shimmered in the bright sunlight of the day. He watched as she lowered her head to the scarlet grass beneath, and scented the blood shed by another equine some time ago. He had not expected another equine to be here now. There were no fights going on. He had come here to be alone. He liked battlefields - the scent of blood was always a wonderfull thing to be in his nostrils.
Slowly he stood, underneath the shadows of an oak tree, and made his way to the mare. He watched her warily, not knowing how she would take his presence. He would see what would happen now. First he nickered gently to her, trying to draw her attention to him.
He continued on closer, even after his nicker. He moved slowly, daggers biting into the soft ground beneath. Rains ravaged the lands this time of the year, but today was an exception. The sun shone brightly in the sky. No doubt another storm would soon arrive, however. He wished that he had a herd to be with him on the long, rainy nights. He had grown used to a herd, until he had been exciled fromhis home.

Her head snapped up in an instant as the sound of another reached her ears. Auds pricked up the the direction of the sound, head and eyes following in unison as she stomped the ground in discomfort at the thought of another horse creeping so close to her without her noticing. She remained silent as his scent washed over her. A stallion, and defianetly a dark by the choice of his hangout spot. Her mind was racing, what should she do? Run? No. That angered most stallions. And so, she stood there, glued to the spot as she took in his appearance.
He had a dominant air about him, and so she guessed he was no mere rogue stallion. But, she was not sure if this was a good thing or bad so she ignored it as she decided on her next move. Her head, which had raised with his nicker, lowered in respect as she swept into a bow. Ears flattened against her crania to show submittance she let out her own chilly nicker as he approached her.

Rohan watched her. So she showed submittance to him.He hadn't expected that, but itwould do. He stepped forward, his hooves making clear imprints on the ground. This mare acted differently than he had thought she would, but he was not phazed by her actions.
What be your name, mare? he asked in clear notes. He expected that she would tell him, since she had alreadyshown signs of submittance. But how would he know? She could turn and run at any second. He wouldn't have that. He would take things carefully, to avoid chase at the moment. He held no ill intentions for her, but did hope to recruit her to his herd, if things went well.
He slowly stepped forward and began to circle her, looking at her from all directions as he waited for her name. He did not think he had a reason to fear her, but he waswary all the same. He was always wary. A bad habit he had formed. Even in the most comfortable, safe environments, he remained wary of any and all.

As the song of his voice swept over her she shuddered slightly, almost unnoticably. It had been so long since her auds had been graced with the voice of another equine. It took a moment for what he said to register, the wheels of her brain beginning to turn abit faster as she blinked at him, her head held low even now.
"Lust, M'lord" she said, lowly, still not looking directly at him. In the Northern Lands it had been a sign of disrespect, for a mare to look upon a stallion as an equal. And so, she kept her head low as she allowed him to circle her. "My name is Lust" she repeated, her long mane falling over her bright blue eyes slowly with the movement of her cranium.

Hmm...Lust, he repeated quietly. He stopped, in front of her now. She was good enough. She was respectful - maybe a little too repectful - and she was completely submittive. That was all well enough, but boring all the same. He watched her for a moment - she would not look directly at him - wondering why she acted so.
Why are you on the Battlegrounds, Lust? he inquired. If he had met a horse here today, he would have expected it to be a stallion, not a mare. But it didn't matter now. He wanted her for his herd, and he was sure he would have no trouble taking her back to his lands. He didn't think he would even have to be too forceful with her, as he had seen other lead stallions do with mares. No, he would not be rough with this one, for now.

A smirk crossed her mouth, and thanks to her long mane it was not noticed by the stallion. She couldn't help but have a bit of disrespect in her voice now. Maybe it was something in her, her darker more tainted side, that was brought out by this stallion, which made her look up. And to look him in the eye. "And why is that of your concern?" she inquired, her icy blue eyes shining to their fullest with a chilling sharpness that was normally kept concealed.
Suddenly, as if stricken by an unseen force, she flinched. "I'm terribly sorry" she muttered, her head lowering once more. "Do forgive me, I do not know what came over me." she added, but she did know. Like an evil sister sharing her body, she knew her second personality very well. She was more like the Lust that Apollo had named. The silent, submittable one was little Maya. But the second personality inside the young mare's body was Lust, wild and uncontrollable. It was more or less a figmant of this mare's imagination- two horses in one body, but it did a good job of explaining her violent changes in personality.
Normally her darker side was kept under control by power hungry brutes, but something about this stallion's patience was letting it out.

So, you aren't completely borning, then, replied Rohan. He seemed not to care of her sudden outburst of disrespect - in fact, he didn't. He had been beginning to grow bored of the mare, but this had changed things. So she did have a more rebellious side - a dark side. Why forgive you? There is nothing to forgive, he told her, dismissing her apology swiftly. He was having more fun now.
I think you should come with me, Lust, to my home, he said, moving closer to her face and lowering his voice. He would see if shewould defy him. Why she was here, on the battlegrounds, did not matter to him. No - he was more interested in taking herto his territory, to become the first of his herd.

His swift dismissal of her outburst only fired her up more, her wild and unpredictable side coming out. For good? Probably not. But for some while now.
"And why would you think that I would follow you? I am not yours to control." she said, rather savagely, her bangs finally parting themselves to settle, covering her left eye completely as her right stare out in a piercing manner at the stallion before her. Somewhere in her eyes, alarm was clearly pronounced. Fear even, for what she had just said, but there was no apology that followed this time.

You will either follow me or I will force you to come with me, he said matter-of-factly. So now she wanted to defy him, and this time there was no apology. He could see the fear in her eyes, and he was still patient. He would get harder if pushed, but for now he knew to remain calm and keep his temper under control.
Many mares had defied him before, and so he was not unused to handling mares like this. He would force her to bend to his will if he wanted her in his herd bad enough. Itwould not be that hard for now. He watched her, knowing that he was pushing the darkness within her out. Hecould sense it. She was a dark, as he was. He might seem light or neutral sometimes, but he was dark, and always would be.

The fear and panic in her eyes increased, but in them a bold stubborness was also blazing, consuming the fear as he persisted to withdraw the darkness that had been so nicely tamed within the mare. She reared suddenly, her broad hooves slicing the air. Though she was a weak mare, her hooves were sharper than the sharpened dagger of a soldier. They could slice a sturdy sapling with only a gently brush, and were her only weapon. Well, other than her equally sharp fangs.
However, she landed to the ground, neck arched and teeth bared as she stomped the ground. "I really doubt that you can keep me where you want me. I will not bow down to you, you are just a foolish stallion like all the rest." she snarled. Part of her wanted to die, terrified of his reaction to what she had just said- but the other part stood strong behind her words, determined not to budge.

Rohan drew back as her hooves sliced the air, watching patiently still, his feelings unchanging and his visage only remiaining a cold and hard as stone. He would be patient still, for now. He only looked at her, knowing that he could easily lose his temper and try to force her with him. But that was not how he wanted to do things at the moment. Let them keep talking for a while.
I can't force you to do what I want you to, but I can try, he said as he watched her cooly. He was a patient stallion, even if he was dark. He carried a level head on his shoulders and knew what he was doing. He raised his head, watching her still. Iwill only try to force you to go with me. You can still resist. He spoke what he meant. If she really did not want to go with him, then she could resist his attempts to force her to do what he wanted.

She snorted, rolling her eyes in a most forbadding manner. "You sure are a confident brute aren't you?" she said, the fear melting away steadily as she faced him, smirk planted boldy upon her face. She was confidant aswell, whatever he planned on doing she could surely avoid. He'd die of blood loss from deep cuts before he could force her anywhere. Such a brute couldn't be quick awell, right?
She watched him, awaiting him to do something. She did not wish to talk. She wished for him to try what he so confidently was sure he would succeed. There were plenty of other mares out there in the territory- and so why would he waste his time on such a stubborn one when there were plenty that would obey his every command. The though of this made her smirk, it was just like something she would have done. Would, being the keyword here.

I am no more confident than you are, Lady he said, still patient. So she was stubborn. Perhaps he could get past that. He was stubborn to - most likely just as stubborn as she could be. He knew that if he tried to force her to do something outright he was in for a fight along with injuries, something he did not want right now. He would still have to be stubbornly patient, though he did not want to at this point. He still watched her, eyes showing only patience and visage betraying no feelings.
Rohan shook his mane quickly, sending dust scattering. The air was dry and he was thristy, but he wasn't done here yet. He wouldn't leave for a while. He still had a bit of searching to do formore mares, but that could be done tomorrow. For now he would focus on Lust, and then later on eating and drinking. Tonight he would rest here, near the battlegrounds. But there was still a matter at hand here. He could not let his mind wander now.

Lust grinned. "Very well then." and with that, she turned. She was stubborn, and she could tell that she was beginning to get on the stallion's nerves, but she did not really care at this point. If there was a fight, she would most likely be beaten. She was weak, fragile, and her only hope would be her dagger sharp hooves. But if he was quick as well as strong, then she was pretty much helpless.
But she could tell he wished not to fight, and so she would simply leave. Honestly, what could he do then? She smirked, her pace quickening into a trot as she moved at a stead rythm throughout the battlegrounds, heading for the eastern territories- away from the scent of the stallions borders.

Silly mare. He wasn't goingto give up. He jsut didn't want to fight - yet anyways. He broke into a swift trot, covering distance fast. He slowed a small bit as he came beside her, following her patiently. He didn't say anything, only followed. He was a patient stallion, even if he could lose control of his temper sometimes. He would follow her either until he grew bored or she gave in or it came to a fight.
Rohan's blood-red coat shone in the bright sunlight from overhead as he trotted alongside the black and white mare. He was enjoying himself now, even though he was having difficulties with her. That was alright to him. He was easy-going for the moment, and nothing could bother him. He was still wary, and still persistent, and his temper still wanted break free of it's cage, but he was happy for the moment.

Suddenly she stopped, her eyes glarring at him. The idiot. All he was doing was frustrating her, she was not about to give in more easily now. Did he truely believe that? Suddenly, she reared, her sharp daggers pointing down ward like an arrow as she thrust them down at the stallion in anger.
He had officially pushed her to far. Now, she was truely annoyed. Why she let out her frustration in such a drastic way? Well, to be honest she couldn't see any dark in this stallion. Either she though she could get away with it, or she was hoping to withdraw the darkness from him like he had for her. Hoping that he would prove to her that he was infact a dark, and not some sissy light.

He had been out of the way before she had even launched the attack, moving out of her way as she had stopped moving forward. He faced her as she fell to the ground, missing him. He was still patient, but now he pushed forward with his hooves, his head snaking forward for his teeth to lash out at her hindquarters, only to draw back within seconds, out of reach of hoof.
He had aimed to strike, but whether he had or not did not matter at the moment. He watched her, knowing that there was a reaction to come. He was patient still, but his dark side fought to escape the prison he had temporarily locked it in. It was nearly out, and he would let it out soon. He couldn't hold it back much longer.

His aim was true. A trickle of blood slid down her hindquarters but she did not care. She had never been in a fight before, but she would not accept defeat with only one hit in. Once again her hooves lashed out, this time seemingly aiming for his side, but swerving for his chest at the last moment.
She too had aimed to strike, her next move abit clumsy as she leapt backwards. Her inexperience was shining through but she did not care. Alot of the time, a fight could be won out of sheer determination. And, though she knew she was outmatched she refused to give it. The darkness he was attempting to control was about to break, she could see it in his eyes, and with this feeding her excitement she awaited his next move.

Rohan moved back as she moved forward, trying to get away from her hooves. Her aim wasn't good enough for a direct hit, but they drew shallow furrows in his chest. He felt blood trickle from the wounds, but he knew that he, too, had drawn blood. She was weaker than he, and less experienced. He could win if he tried.
As the scent of blood reached his nostrils the darkness screamed within him. He could not hold back his true nature, and no longer would he. He galloped forward, closing the space between them within a second and sending his hooves lashing out at her side, followed by his teeth aimed for her neck. Within seconds he was away from her, watching and waiting for the next move.He was vigilant, ready for another attack and ready to attack again.
